Most people know art makes my heart skip a beat (well so do food, music and shoes but whatever) but an art and charity combo is enough to make a girl...well...you know...

For their 15th Anniversary Juxtapoz is hosting an art auction where all proceeds will be donated to the Power House Project to help purchase and renovate foreclosed and abandoned homes in the Detroit area.

Upper Playground is hosting a viewing of the artwork and meet and greet with the artists November 14.

Nike Air Native N7

Nike has created the first-of-a-kind performance shoe designed to address the specific fit and width requirements for the Native American foot. The Air Native N7 was created to help promote fitness amongst Native Americans, a community with high obesity rates. Research shows Native Americans have taller and wider feet than general so the the Air Native will be wider with a larger toe box and have other modifications to help with comfort. The shoe will also have "several "heritage callouts" including sunrise to sunset to sunrise patterns on the tongue and heel of the shoe. Feather designs adorn the inside and stars are on the sole to represent the night sky."

It will be distributed solely to American Indians and all proceeds from the sale of the shoe will be reinvested in health programs for tribal lands...Ill 'kicks AND charity...That's good ish...

The past couple days my girl sk8betty has been posting bulletins on myspace regarding the Jena 6 situation...Until she pointed out the real lack of media coverage, I didn't realize it wasn't common knowledge...I just thought maybe I wasn't caught up on my current events...The first place I heard about this situation was over at YBF about a week ago...Ya'll already know I LOVE GRAFH but this video over at AllHipHop just cemented my respect for him......All I'm go'n say is (and ya'll know I have to limit my words 'cuz my righteousness and thoughts about the government and the system will have me ranting for the next 5 hours)...This is 2007 and we are still dealing with ish like this...Wake up People...Look at the world around you...Look at what they're doing to us...Modern day slavery...Some people think it's a cop out excuse but if you have true knowledge of laws, politics and history you will see the game they're playing...Power to The People...

Ever since I saw Halle rockin' this shirt I've been trying to find it...Back in 2004 when I first realized there was a young, cute, pretty chill, black senator in the White House I started asking around to find out more about him...It was Barack Obama so I did a little googling and found he briefly attended my Alma Mater Occidental College and I've been a fan ever since...

My mom attended his book signing at Eso Won a couple months ago and came back with a button that says 'Obama for President - Coming Soon' and I couldn't wait for the race to actually begin...
