Breakfast of Champions...

A few months ago I blogged about the abundance of specialty food trucks on the streets of LA... Since that blog post about another 86 food trucks have hit the road...You thought I was sick of it then well trust...I'm SICK of it now...well...I thought I was sick of it...Then I came across the Buttermilk Truck and I have to admit it intrigues me...After I saw the menu I was a little upset when I realized they haven't even launched yet...

With things like Hawaiian Bread Cinnamon French Toast Sticks...

and Fried Chicken with Housemade Cinnamon Waffles...

BOTH the morning and evening menus are definitely going to have me chasing...Sounds like the perfect post-club meal...They're having a launch party tomorrow so I think I'll stop by and get to know my new food obsession a little better...Follow them on Twitter so you can chase them around LA like I'm going to...I think it's going to be worth it...

Everywhere I Turn There's A Damn Truck...

The latest LA craze is to buy an old taco truck and drive it around town delivering premium goods..I'm not go'n lie... I thought it was a very clever idea in the beginning but now that there's 184 different trucks running around the damn city it's not so cute any more...I have my favorite (Kogi BBQ Truck!) Like I said there's literally about 184 of them so I can't post them all...but here's a list of a few of them...

- Baby's Badass Burgers (did I really just type that?) - The owners of One Group started this truck and very honestly I think they did it just to be funny...STK..Taco Truck... How do those words even fit in the same sentence? But if the burgers are anything like the other upscale food they serve in their restaurants in LA then chasing this truck is worth the gas...Follow Baby's Badass Burgers on Twitter for location alerts as well... (menu)

- Kogi BBQ Truck - These set of trucks go by colors (Azul, Verde, Rojo) and they'll tweet their locations all day so you can catch up to them...The food is definitely worth the chase...Follow Kogi BBQ on Twitter to stay up to date (menu)...

- Fish Lips Sushi Truck - Now I dunno how smart it is to buy sushi from a truck but I purchased some once before from a 7-eleven so I guess a truck is at least one step above that...Follow Fish Lips Sushi on Twitter (menu)...

- Dodger Ticket Truck - Follow the Dodgers on Twitter and they'll alert you to the trucks every stop...You can buy tickets and $1 hot dogs...

- Dosa Truck - What is a Dosa? Follow the Dosa Truck on Twitter...

And last on my list of faves...but certainly not least is...

- Sprinkles Cupcake Van - I'm not even going to explain this one 'cuz if you dunno what Sprinkles is by NOW you might as well shoot yourself...Follow Sprinkles Cupcake Van on Twitter...

Flippin' Out...

Check Spelling

I'm just greedy...Simple as that...Summer always seems to lead me on a quest for a new frozen snack to obsess over. The last two summers my frozen snack of choice was Sour Watermelon Slurpee's at 7-Eleven...This summer I have a new obsession Ben & Jerry's Flipped Out!

If this isn't the most ingenious idea I dunno what is... It reminds me of those ice cream cups you used to get off the ice cream truck when you were little but improved by 100%...The fudge and brownie is just right and it really doesn't seem like all that goodness could come in a pre-packaged container...I follow Ben & Jerry's on Twitter and recently they held a lil contest and I ended up winning TWO free packages of Flipped Out! Now if that isn't a reason to tweet I dunno what is...

ish...

- Tony Hawk's New Virtual game 'TH Ride' has a November 17th US release date...Looks pretty ill...

- Free Chocolate from Mars every Friday...

- This Marc Jacobs Flights of Fancy bag '09 is very reminiscent of the Louis Vuitton Conte De Fees bag '02...Is it considered biting if you design BOTH lines? Although if you really wanna get technical Julie Verhoeven designed that LV bag...

- Apparently Pastry isn't the only one getting away from tennis shoes and into wedges and ballet flats...Check out the new women's line Select from Creative Recreation dropping Spring '10...

FREE Sundae Mondays...

Ben & Jerry's loves Mondays and I LOVE Ben & Jerry's...One of the best ways to keep up with them is to follow them on Twitter @cherrygarcia...They send out tweets about scoop shop specials like Monday's BOGO sundaes and they hold fun contests from time to time...Font size Anyway it's Monday and I know I just ate a bunch of junk at the fair yesterday but I'm heading to my nearest scoop shop to get a free sundae...

Johnny Cupcakes Presents The Goonies...

I love Johnny Cupcakes and was happy when he finally opened a store in LA. I can't believe he's been out here a year already. I'd been following him on the web for years and the events in Boston always looked so fun I wished I was out there...well now he's in LA and even though he's new to the town he's hosting events just like he were a native...Catch the Midnight screening of The Goonies this Saturday if it's anything like the LA 1 yr anniversary party...I'm sure it's to be an interesting night...

Yummy Earth Organic Lollipops...

I have a HUGE sweet tooth...When Sour Skittles first launched someone bought me a case because they were tired of hearing me complain everyday about how I couldn't find them anywhere...The case was gone in 2 days...Someone once bought me the largest, you can usually only find them in an airport, 750G Toblerone and it was gone in about 12 hours...My addiction to sugar is so bad it's actually starting to scare even me (and nothing scares me) So I've started looking for a healthy alternative so far the only thing I've found besides nature's original candy is everybodies favorite the fruit snack...But somehow the fruit snack still doesn't fulfill my sugar cravings...Then I found these... Yummy Earth Candy...They are all organic (which made me skeptical) but they are just as sweet as any piece of sugar filled crap I've ever put in my mouth and they satisfy my sugar craving...I can still have my sweets and not feel bad about what I'm putting in my body and to me that's all that matters...

Justin's NYC Closed...

According to XXL, Puff...Sorry Diddy (I always forget not to call him Puff) has decided to close Justin's in NYC...

The statement which was released says ...
“Bad Boy is seeking a larger footprint for the restaurant in the New York City area, as the size and location of the restaurant no longer fit the Justin’s brand,” the statement said. “The company sees the larger Justin’s Restaurant in Atlanta, which takes up most of a city block, as the prototype for the new New York City location. Bad Boy representatives are evaluating a number of options for a larger space in some of New York City’s prime traffic areas.”

I guess...Another case of they weren't making any money so they giving people lame excuses...On another note I have the original recipe for Justin's Puffy Shrimp so hit me up if you need it I'll be more than happy to pass it along...

ish...

Paris Hilton launched Rich Prosecco...This girl will put her face on about anything... I guess there's a market for champagne in a can...Altho I think Sofia conquered this market a few years ago and between them and the mini Moet...I don't really think we need another portable champagne...

Why do I have this bowl?!!! The one I have cost about $25...My boss picked it up in Amish Country!!!! Wonder if they know someone bit their ancient art of bowl making...Probably not...That's what happens when you shun technology...Peeps take yo ideas and start charging $75 for them...

Since when can an airline ask you to get off a flight for wearing revealing clothing? This 'fit ain't even THAT revealing! If it was me I'd sue too...

It was only a matter of time before someone figured out how to download free ringtones on the new iPhone...follow this link before they make them take it down! LOL!

Forbes also has info about unlocking the phone so you can use it with other carriers besides AT&T... Good ish...

LA County Fair Time!!!

I'm a simple girl and it's the simple things in life that make me happy...With that disclaimer aside...Can I say I LOVE THE LA COUNTY FAIR?!!! I know I always say I LOVE things but that's cuz I do really love things that make me happy and the County Fair is definitely one of those things that fills my soul for a million not so obvious reasons but I'll focus on the main one...

I have gone to the Fair every year since I was a kid...My mom dragged me and even as I kid I loved it...The rides, the games, the animals...It was sooo much fun...When I entered my teenage years I started going 'cuz there were always guys around you could flirt with and maybe if you were lucky and went the right night there'd even be a makeshift club going on and of course 'cuz my mom dragged me...But as I got older I realized that I still love the rides and the super slide but what really makes to go to the County Fair these days (and I say county fair and not just LA 'cuz I hit up the OC County Fair when it's going down too...It's cheaper to get in and the only real difference is it's a lil smaller which is fine by me...Who really walks the whole fairground anyway? Have you seen the whole thing? But I digress...) What really makes me go to the County Fair these days is the food!

Chocolate filled Churros, Turkey Drumsticks, Turkey Corndogs, Frozen Banana on a Stick, Pork Chop on a Stick, Corn on the Cob, Funnel Cake, Cotton Candy, Sno Cones, Caramel Apples, Popcorn, Homemade Potato Chips with Baked Potato toppings and Beer! On top of that the County Fair will deep fry anything...Snickers, Oreos, Twinkies, Strawberries, Apples, Tomatoes, Avocados, Olives...Even Coke... Sheesh...It's frickin' heaven is what it is...Definitely a lil gluttony crackin' off but it only happens once a year...That's my excuse...

And if you don't believe me....Check...People of all ages seriously love The LA County Fair...I can't wait to go there and eat! I'm so excited!

Cereal 101

I love cereal...I didn't get to eat it as a kid because my mom hardly ever fed us processed food...She cooked breakfast for me every day all the way through high school...As soon as I was on my own, my love for sugary cereal blossomed...Now I take my cereal very seriously...Being that I'm the only one eating out the box I never finish the box before it starts to get soggy so as soon as I open a box of cereal I put the entire bag inside a ziploc freezer bag and put it back inside the box...This way I can ensure my cereal will never be stale when I reach for it AND it even allows me to have two different boxes open at once so I can have some variety...You can imagine how happy I was when I found this gadget 'The Box Topper Lid' from Buddeez.com...

It fits most cereal boxes, holds the liner bag open inside and keeps cereal fresh...

The other problem I have with cereal is that it's really hard to eat it once you've left the house...You can buy those individual cereal bowls and a small carton of milk at the convienence store (which is what I usually do if I want to eat cereal at work) OR you can use this Portable Cereal Bowl I found over at dormbuys.com...

It keeps your milk cold and separate from your cereal. The milk stays cold by keeping the gel filled cup frozen and it even comes with a portable spoon...I like it because I can put any kind of cereal in it like my Kashi Go Lean so I can eat it on the run even though they don't make it in individual serving size... Seriously I love when gadgets make my life easier and both are under $5 which is good ish 'cuz breakfast really is the most important meal of the day...

Dill Pickle Sunflower Seeds?!

Sunflower seeds are a staple in the 'hood...so when I ran into liquor store the other day to grab a bag you can imagine my surprise when I saw a Dill Pickle flavored bag...WTF? NOW this might seem like a strange combination but as soon as I saw the words 'Dill Pickle' memories of dill pickles with cherry Jolly Rancher sticks shoved in them rushed back from my childhood (I shoved weird things in my pickles as a kid..now&laters...saladitos)... The pickle taste on these seeds is light and kinda replaces that straight salt flavor that you usually get on contact with seeds... They're not bad at all...Dill Pickle AND Seeds? How much more ghetto can you get?
